Community Involvement

Sterling Insurance Group believes strongly in giving back to our local communities and regularly donates to a number of charitable organizations. Our contributions and volunteer efforts help create a stronger and healthier environment for our policyholders and employees to work and live.

Sterling Foundation

The Sterling Insurance Company Foundation was created in late 2013. The Foundation was formed to provide gifts to a multitude of charitable organizations. By forming the Foundation, Sterling has given charitable giving an honored place within our corporate culture and allows our employees a greater say in how much we give and to whom.

The Marathon for a Better Life

The Marathon for a Better Life started in 1996 in response to a need to assist patients in Schoharie County in their fight against cancer. The organization has helped over 1600 people of all ages who have been battling cancer by giving financial assistance to help with the bills that weigh heavily on the patient’s mind. The Sterling Foundation recently made a $5,000 donation to this wonderful charitable organization.

The Gathering Place

Sterling Insurance Company is a proud supporter of The Gathering Place 50 Plus Community Center. This new center provides resources, programs, meeting space, and many classes and activities all dedicated to enhancing the lives of our 50 Plus population in Schoharie County and surrounding areas.

Employee Matching

We have a number of employees donating both time and money to their local charities and the Sterling Foundation matches contributions to eligible not for profit organizations.
